Dhaka, December 26: Abahani Ltd. Dhaka clinched the title of JB Bangladesh Premier League with one match to spare after beating Uttar Baridhara 4-0 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Monday.
The win saw the traditional sky blue outfit pile up an unassailable 49 points after 21 encounters.
Chittagong Abahani, the second placed team of the table has 44 points and they can not topple Dhaka Abahani even if they win their last match.
In the nine editions of Premier League Abahani now have five silverware's, they last won the title back in 2011-12 season and had to wait three seasons to regain their supremacy.
Abahani's English forward Jonathan David put his team ahead in the 18th minute, Nabib Newaz Jibon added the second in the 58th minute, midfielder Emon Babu added the third off a penalty in the 83rd minute and midfielder Faisal Mahmud completed the rout with a header three minutes ahead of the final whistle.
Uttar Baridhara has 17 points from 21 matches and are placed 11th among the 12 teams.
