The Bangladesh Football Federation held a technical workshop for club coaches to develop the partnership between them and the federation’s technical department.
The workshop with Bangladesh Premier League and Bangladesh Championship League clubs held on Wednesday also served as an opportunity to update the clubs about the football federation’s plans of football development and in turn strengthen the relationship between the federation and the clubs.
Paul Smalley, the federation’s technical director, said the workshop was one of the many tools to bring some of the key players together and tell them about coaching education programme scheduled for the rest of the year.
Such workshops, he said, would help bring the clubs to the same page as the federation. Smalley said he was looking to get the coaches interested in professional development. “Better coaches would mean better training bringing out better players who would have better performance and thus better results.”
With more help and assistance, the federation hopes to eventually lift club football and consequently the standard of the game across Bangladesh.
The coaches, for their part, are updated on the latest development and opportunities to educate themselves for a higher level.
Such sessions would lead to an effective partnership between the federation and the clubs that would be mutually beneficial to both sides. The workshop would also strive to ensure education and development of all technical staff of the clubs.
