Dhaka, January 17: English national John Whittle has been appointed as the Strength and Conditioning Coach at Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF).
On January 14, 2017, in the sixth emergency meeting of the BFF executive committee, the decision was taken to appoint Whittle as the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the next two months.
However, Whittle might be appointed in the post for a longer term after evaluating his performance at the end of the contract.
In the meeting presided over by BFF President Kazi Salahuddin Ahmed, it was also decided to appoint Ryan David Sandford as the Goalkeeping Coach for the next three months.
Whittle and Sandford will both be working with the Bangladesh National Football Team in their upcoming conditioning camp from January 20 to February 8 in Savar BKSP.
Whittle started off as an apprentice professional player at English Premier League's Chelsea Football Club.
Then after playing for several other clubs in the Football League England, he joined as the Youth/Strength and Conditioning Coach at Kingstonians Football Club.
Then he moved to New Zealand where he worked in a variety of posts from Regional Coach to National Coach for the New Zealand Football Federation.
John Whittle has also worked as the Head of Youth for the Asia Football Confederation (AFC).
