Japan, January 29: Bangladesh U16 girls won 2 and lost one match (in tie-breaker) on their second day at the J Green Sakai Tournament in Osaka.
The girls beat Amagasaki Ladies 4-0 in the first match of the day with Shopna scoring two and, Krishna and Marzia scoring once each.
The second match of the day against Thailand U16 was initially a 1-1 draw, with Shopna scoring once. The match went onto a tie-breaker, which the girls lost.
The third match against Tokai University Academy was another thumping win as the girls took it 4-0. Shopna once again led the scoring with two goals while Sheuli and Akhi scored one each.
This adds another feather to Bangladesh U16 performance having shown great performance and perseverance against fully funded Japanese academy teams and professional teams some of which are in fact better than national teams in South Asia.
