Dhaka, February 13:Hosts and defending champions Chittagong Abahani was drawn with Nepal's Manag Marshiaydi in the group B of Sheikh Kamal International Cup in the draw held on Monday.
Afghanistan's Shahin Asmyi and Dhaka Mohammedan are the remaining teams of group B.
The draw ceremony that held at a five star hotel of the capital saw Dhaka Abahani Ltd, Alga Bishkek FC of Kyrgystan, Pocheon Citizen Club of South Korea and TC Football Club of Maldives pitted in the group A.
The trophy of the tournament also was unveiled in the ceremony.
Minister for Planning AHM Mustafa Kamal was the chief guest on the occasion. State minister for youth and sports Biren Sikder, deputy minister for youth and sports Arif Khan Joy, chairman of parliamentary standing committee for youth and sports Jahid Ahsan Russell, BFF president Kazi Salahuddin, and Chittagong Abahani officials were also present on the occasion.
The second edition of the 'Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup’ is scheduled to begin on February 18.
Approved by FIFA and Asian Football Confederation (AFC), the tournament named after Bangabandhu's eldest son and eminent sports organizer martyred Sheikh Kamal will be organized by the BFF in association with Chittagong Abahani Ltd.
All the matches of the tournament, arranged to show respect to the memory of Sheikh Kamal, will be played at Chittagong's MA Aziz Stadium from the inauguration on February 18 to the final match on March 2.
In this edition of the tournament, 8 club teams will participate to fight for the prestigious trophy including five foreign teams.
The teams are: Shaheen Asmayee FC (Afghanistan), Manang Marshyangdi Club (Nepal), TC Sports Club (Maldives), Pocheon Citizen Football Club (South Korea), FC Alga Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), Dhaka Abahani Limited, Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited and hosts Chittagong Abahani Limited.
