Dhaka, Fabruary 18: Demonstrating the high standards of South Korean football Pocheon FC, the fourth tier club of Korean League surprised Alga Bishkek with a 2-0 win on Saturday.
The inaugural match of the Sheikh Kamal International Cup at the M.A.Aziz Stadium, Chittagong saw a fine display of total football from the Koreans who were in control with quick attacks down the flanks while repelling their Kyrgyz opponents with a solid defence line.
Pocheon, took the lead with a long-range effort of Jang Young IK in the 14th minute. Later man-of-the-match JI Kyeong Deuk struck the second in the 20th minute with a beautiful chip off a well placed pass.
In the second half Pocheon broke through the Kyrgyzstan Premier League champion Alga Bishkek’s defence a few times but could not convert.
The five-time Kyrgyz champions appeared to be in complete disarray faced with the organised and concerted Korean attacks.
