Dhaka, June 8: The U23 national camp is going on strongly with the eager and effective participation of the selected players.
The U23 camp began on June 7 and will continue till June 9 in order to build the Bangladesh U23 National Football Team that will participate in the qualifying rounds of ‘AFC U-23 Championship 2018’ which will be held during July 19-23, 2017 in Palestine.
A total of 54 players were selected for the camp after observing and evaluating their performances.
The identification and selection of the players were conducted through the following process:
Observations from previous BCL/BPL games,
Observations from the Federation Cup,
Recommendations from the club coaches,
Observations from the Senior National Team Camp in January, 2017; and
BFF Player Profile database.
Each of the 54 players have been called to attend the camp on all the three days.
The team will be finalized after a long and very meticulous and rigorous process.
However, all players who were invited have attended the camp; even the sick and injured players. The players were screened by the BFF medical staff. Their attitude has been extremely professional.
Happy with the proceedings of the camp, Andrew Ord, the newly appointed head coach of the Bangladesh National Football Team, said, "I'm really optimistic for the future. My early thoughts about the camp was that all players attended and were eager to show their qualities out on the field. The performances were really encouraging, lots of enthusiasm, pace and endeavour."
The camp has mainly been arranged to observe the players' performance and mentality in game related situations as it will be vital in bringing good results for Bangladesh in the upcoming tournament.
