Dhaka, August 7: Chittagong Abahoni Ltd have sustained their winning streak in the ‘Saif Power Battery Bangladesh Premier League 2017’ in their third match of the season, beating Team BJMC 2-0 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Monday.
While both the teams failed to find the opponent’s net in the first half, Chittagong Abahoni dominated the second half and grabbed the full points, retaining its position at the top of the table.
However, BJMC had wasted its first opportunity in the 27th minute of the match when midfielder Abdullah Al Mamun failed to head a cross from fellow midfielder Krishna.
Chittagong Abahoni took the lead in the 62nd minute when winger Monsur Amin sped through the right flank and managed a brilliant cross over to Nigerian forward Afeez Oladipo who volleyed home (1-0).
Nine minutes later in to the game, Chittagong Abahoni doubled the lead as forward Touhidul Alam Sobuj found the back of the opponent’s net with precision when midfielder Abdullah led the quick counter attack from the back. Sobuj managed to outrun his marker before hitting the far post net with a flat footed shot (2-0).
Both the teams playing three matches, Chittaging Abahoni climbed to the top of the table with nine points while BJMC remained on their previous collection of one point.
