Dhaka Mar 2: Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited registered their fifth win in the Grameenphone Bangladesh League beating Rahamatganj MFS 2-1 at the BSSM Mostafa Kamal Stadium today.
With the win Sheikh Jamal moved up to the third place of the point table with 18 points while the defeat saw Rahamatganj slipping one step down from fourth to fifth with 16th points at the end of the ninth round.
Sheikh Jamal’s attacking instincts paid off as national striker Ameli broke the deadlock in the 17th minute of the match when his right foot shot deceived Rahmatganj goalie Iran Shekh after Enamul’s powerful shot rebounded off the crosspiece.
However, the Old Dhaka outfit hit back in the 28th minute when their Ugandan striker Idris Kasirye leveled the score with an angular right foot shot from a pass of defender Rimon.
Enamul sealed the victory for stars-studded club off a penalty in the 53rd minute of the match. Cameroonian midfielder Modo Hugues was brought down by the Rahmatganj defenders and Enamul converted the spot kick in his second attempt as the first one was blocked by Iran Sheikh.
