Dhaka Mar 12: Muktijoddha Krira Shangshad Krira Chakkra moved to top in the Grameenphone Bangladesh League again as they handed another big 6-0 victory over Chittagong Mohammedan Sporting Club at the BSSM Mostafa Kamal Stadium today.
After this triumph, Mukti returned top of the points table and took solo lead with 25 points while Chittagong Mohammedan kept 10 points under the scare of relegation.
Though the port city held the all reds 0-0 until the first half but in the second half their wall was broken down by Mukti’s front liner and grabbed the easy win.
James Moga, a Sudanese striker, broke the deadlock for winners in the 50th minute of the match when his driving header defeated rival goalie James Paul on a Mithun’s cross from the right side of the box.
The freedom fighters made the lead double on the 62nd minute of the match when Moga scored his second goal with a placing shot after intercepting a ball from rival defenders just outside the danger zone.
Nigerian striker Bukola scored the third goal by a placing shot seven minutes after second goal on a Motiur Munna’s cutback.Substitute Rana netted the fourth goal for the winning team in the 78th minute by a volley shot on defender Titu’s cross.
Mithun, the leading scorer in the league, opened his first goal and fifth goal for Mukti of the match on the 90th minute when his right foot shot home from a pass of midfielder Rajon.
The national strikers sealed the victory with his 11th goal of the league in the injury time as his power full shot defeated rival goalkeeper from Bukola’s pass.
Muktijoddha coach Maruf was happy as his team earned a comfortable win against the Port city, “obviously I am happy because boys worked very hard after last big win and they got the result. I like the way they played today basically their changing and shifting. After 4 days rest, Bukola became completely fit now and Moga also played well. Mithun was also exceptional today.”
