Dhaka, Mar 15: Sudanese forward James Saeed Moga’s hat-trick helped Muktijoddha to finish at the top of the table as the red outfit demolished Rahamatganj MFS 5-1 in the Grameenphone Bangladesh League at the BSSM Mostafa Kamal Stadium today.
Muktijoddha completed their 11 matches with 28th points tow points ahead of the second positioned defending champions Dhaka Abahani. Rahmatganj, the old Dhaka outfit remained in 5th place with 16 points.
Moga, broke the deadlock for Muktijoddha in the 12th minute of the match when his header off a Bukola’s cross landed in the far post.
The tall Sudanese striker doubled the lead five minutes later by a solo effort after dodging defender and rival goalie Iran Sheikh.
Mithun, the highest scorer of the league, netted his number twelve in the 57th minute by a right foot powerful shot from after goalie Biplob cleared a ball in the midfield.
Five minute later, Midfielder Maruf made the lead 4-0 when his placing shot defeated rival custodian on a corner kick of Mithun.
Rahamatganj reduced margin in the 81st minute when their frontliner Pusbon Mollah’s shot found home from a pass of Nigerian midfielder Felix.
Moga completed his hat-trick and fifth goal for all reds in one minute before the final whistle off a push after dodging past the rival goalie with a nice through pass of his fellow attacking partner Mithun.
