Dhaka Mar 20: Bangladesh conceded their second consecutive defeat in the London Olympic 2012 qualifying round when they went down to Uzbekistan by 3-0 at the Bangabandhu Stadium today.
The host conceded all goals in the second half as the girls were able to finish first half goalless draw.
Defender Ermatova Aziza broke the deadlock in the 64th minute of the match when her powerful shot defeated Bangladesh goal keeper Sabina Aktar on a corner of Turdiboeva Feruza from the right sight.
The visitors made the lead double in the 74th minute when their striker Sarikova Makhliyo’s shot home from a pass of Turdiboeva Feruza.
Midfielder Karachik Lyudmila scored third goal for her team before the final whistle by a right foot shot on a cross of Sarikova Makhliyo.
Bangladesh coach Golam Rabbani Choton felt relief after his team conceded only three goals as the opponent was much stronger. I cannot say I am happy after defeat but I can say girls are trying their level best. As you know, they played like European and technically and tactically far better than us. So, you can’t think about good result against them after two weeks practice,” told Bangladesh coach at post match.
Team captain Trishna Chakma said, “We have many things to learn from them. They are very good team we can’t beat them but our girls tried to their level best.
Uzbek coach and officials are happy after an easy win. Their vice Captain Lagutkina Elena praised Bangladesh girls for playing well in the first half. “Bangladesh played well in the first half but second half we saw all three goals. So, the home team is good but we are better. I hope more goals today,” told vice captain during the post match.
Uzbek coach Han Vladislav hopes his team will play better against India as they played first match today.
Usbek will play their next match against India on Tuesday.
