Dhaka, Mar 22: The Olympic qualifying round group B last match between India and Uzbekistan ended 1-1 draw at the Bangabandhu National Stadium today.
Uzbek drew the early blood in the second minute of the match as their striker Karachik Lyudmila’s right foot shot saved rival goalie Sita Sharma.
Lyudmila, tallest striker, missed another chance in the 19th minute of the match as her shot past the post from a pass of Ermatova Aziza.
India did not produce a fruitful attack but able to hold the match goalless draws until the first half
In the second half India took the charge as their striker Tababi Devi broke the dead lock for India in the 70th minute of the match. The experience striker’s volley reached far post defeating rival goalkeeper Ahamedova Yuliya from a deflection after corner of Rashmita Patra.
Earlier, midfielder Monpreet Kaur missed an easy chance as her shot went outside the post from a pass of Bala Devi’s pass.
Uzbek leveled the match in 79th minute while Riskieva’s header off Turodiabova Feruza’s corner crashing the net.
Indian coach Mohammed Shahid Jabbar was frustrated as his girls did not keep the lead. “you know we have chance to win the game and we took a lead but girls didn’t keep it. But hope tomorrow we will try to our best.”
Uzbek Han Vladislav also was not happy with their girls’ performance. “We missed many chances what shouldn’t do. If we utilized those, we could win.”
