Yangon, Mar23: Bangladesh kept their hope alive for the second round after beating host Myanmar 2-0 in the AFC Challenge Cup 2012 qualifying round A group match at the Youth training Center today.
Bangladeshi side won against Myanmar after the Grand Royal Challenge Cup held in 2005.
Bangladesh dominated over Myanmar both half as striker Shakil broke the deadlock for Bangladesh in the 11th minute of the match as his flick past over the rival custodian from a through pass of midfielder Zahid
Midfielder Komol put the lead double in the 88th minute of the match when his shot defeated rival custodian. Intercepting a ball from rival defender with his excellent footwork, Komol moved ahead dodging two defenders and made home.
Bangladesh will play their last match against Philippines March 25.
