Dhaka, Apr 09: New football power house Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi club will face Farashganj Sporting Club in group A match of the Independence Cup Football Tournament 2011 opener at the Bangabandhu National Stadium tomorrow at 4:30.
In the second match, Dhaka Abahani will meet Chittagong Mohammedan at the same venue on 6:30.
The star-studed outfit recruited five foreign players for making their team stronger as they want to give new shape of the team.
The Dhanmondi coach Pakeer Ali hopes his boys will play good football against Farashganj, "we hope boys will play very good match. We will play for win. So, don’t underestimate any team. We did not confirm our eleven yet. We have no injury problems. All players are OK and fit,” said the former Abahani star.
Sheikh Jamal defeated Farashganj 2-0 in the first leg match of Bangladesh league but the Lankan coach are not taking their opponent easy as he know everything can happen in the field, “You know everything can happen in the 90 minutes. So, don’t underestimate any team.”
On the other hand, Farashganj coach Kamal Babu is also looking forward for win, "we will come to field for win and try to play attacking football. After recruiting two foreign, team is balance now. Our opponent is a big team but we did not afraid of them. We can defeat any team any time in our days." said Farashganj coach.
Manager of Swadhin Bangla Football team Tanvir Mazharul Islam Tanna will open the tournament as a chief guest.
Twelve teams of Bangladesh professional league are participating in the tournament dividing four groups.
