Dhaka, Apr 12: Brazilian midfielder Everton helped Brothers Union to register a victory in their first of the Independence Cup Football Tournament when they defeated Chittagong Mohammedan Sporting Club 3-0 in the second match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium today.
Brazilian playmaker Everton scored two goals and helped Faisal Mahmood to net another goal.
The Gopibagh outfit missed many chances as the first half was ended goalless draw.
Everton, the playmaker of the winning team, scored the maiden goal for the Orange from a penalty in the 79 minute of the match. The left footer was brought down by rival defender Sirajul Karim inthe penalty area and the referee blew the whistle for penalty. Everton made the spot kick.
Stiker Faisal Mahmood made the lead double when his shot touched the backnet off a pass from Everton Sauza Santos.
The Brazilian sealed the victory for Brothers in the 90+1 minute of the match with a solo effort. He netted the ball after dodging two rival defenders and defeating rival goalie.
