Dhaka, Apr 17: Sudanese striker James Moga’s hat-trick not only helped Muktijoddha Krira Sangsad to reach top of the group C but also opened the luck for Soccer Club to move to the second round when they bagged an easy 4-1 win over Arambagh Krira sangha at the BSSM Mostafa Kamal Stadium today.
Soccer Club Feni moved to the nock-out round by means of goal different as they did 1-1 draw with Arambagh and lost to Muktijoddha 2-1.
The tallest striker, replacing midfielder Zahirul Islam, scored in the 53, 72 and 86 minutes and Nasir 28 minutes for the all reds while Liton netted lonely for Arambagh.
Nasir Uddin opened the net for Muktijoddha in the 28th minute of the match when his angular shot from right side of the box hit the back net.
Sudanese striker James Moga made the lead double in the 52 minute from a set piece as he was brought down by rival midfielder Faisal Ahmed Emeka.
The Arambagh substitute striker Rezaul Karim Liton reduced the margin from a spot kick in the 76th minute as their Liberian striker Benjamin Kooper was foul by rival goalkeeper Biplob.
Moga completed his third hat-trick in the season six minute before the final whistle by a powerful shot that was provided by striker Rony who scored twice in the abandon match.
Mukti will face Dhaka Mohamedan Sporting Club while Soccer Club to meet Sheikh Russel on Tuesday in the quarter-final.
