Dhaka, May 5: Brothers Union’s new Nigerian forward Nkwocha Kigsley fired a brace in his debut match as the orange outfit beat Arambagh 3-2 in the lone match of the Grameenphone Bangladesh League at the Bangabandhu national Stadium on Thursday.
In the 7th minute of the match Nkwocha Kingsley put his team ahead with a neatly taken volley from the top of the six yard box off volley of his Brazilian teammate Everton.
Benjamin Cooper, the Liberian forward of Arambagh restored the parity five minutes later as his timely header off a Khan Sharif corner beat the outstretched hand of Brothers Union goalie Sabuj Das Roghu.
Kingsley proved his prowess again in the 16th minute when he dribbled past two defenders and fired the ball in the far post of Arambagh keeper Bishnu.
Everton again put Brothers Union on a two goal cushion in the 67th minute after going past two defenders with a through pass of Kabir and placed the into the far post.
A loss of concentration saw Brothers Union concede the second in the 86th minute as Arambagh midfielder Mamun had little difficulty to hit the back of the net form the middle of the box.
With the win Brothers Union moved to the sixth position of the table with 16 points while Arambagh who also have 16 points was placed seventh. Both the team completed their 13 round.
