Dhaka, May 7: Farashganj Sporting Club staged a spirited fightback to draw 1-1 against Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club in the Grameenphone Bangladesh League at the Bangabandhu national Stadium on Saturday.

The match started in a lively note as both the teams exchanged a number of attacks and came close of a strike on a few occasions. Farashganj however led the onslaught and Sohel Rana, the young forward shot over the Mohammedan post in the 12th minute. Siyo Zunapio saw his left footer saved by Mohammedan goalie Mohammed al Hasan in the 22nd minute.
Mohammedan took the lead in the 35th minute when midfielder Shariful Islam broke free in the right flank and cut the ball back for Sunday Chizoba who placed the ball into the far post net of Shujon Chowdhury.
A rejuvenated Farashganj hit back after the break and piled up pressure upon their opponents and duly restored the parity in the 77th minute. Kalou Johnson headed a long throw-in of defender Bhashani and unmarked Siyo Zunapiyo placed the ball in the far post from the top of the six yard box.
Mohammedan took their tally to 18 poinns from 14 matches and remained at the fifth position while Farashganj with 10 points from 13 match to their credit was positioned 11th in the points table.
