Dhaka, May 18: Brothers Union continued to haunt Dhaka Mohammedan as the orange outfit won 3-1 in the lone match of the Grameeenphone Bangladesh League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Wednesday.
Brothers defeated Dhaka Mohammedan 2-0 in the first phase also and repeated the feat.
Nkwocha Kinglsley, the new signing of Brothers Union put the orange outfit ahead in the 51st minute off a cut back of Tonmoy Hossain Toru. Toru danced down the left flank and found Kingsley unmarked in the middle of the box and the big Nigerian placed the ball in the far post net with his left foot (1-0)
Mohammedan fought back to take the control of the midfield and restored the parity in the 67th minute. Sunday Chizoba, the Nigerian attacker of the traditional black and white outfit ran down the left hand flag and curved a nice cross for Rwandan midfielder Amani whose diving header beat Brothers goalie Roghu in the near post(1-1).
Danilo, the Brazilian defender of Brothers Union continued his scoring spree against Mohammedan in the 81st minute when he dived forward to head his compatriot Everton’s corner from the right hand flag. (2-1) The tall Brazilian also scored with a header in the first phase when Brothers won 2-0 against Mohammedan.
Mohammedan conceded the third in the stoppage time when Everton again curved a nice cross for Kingsley whose sideheader from the top of the six yard box crashed into the near post (3-1).
Brothers Union moved to the fifth position of the table with 22 points from 16 matches while Mohammedan fell down to sixth place with 21 points from the same number of matches.
