Sheikh Jamal who has played 18 matches sat on the top with 41 points, two ahead of Muktijoddha who however has played 17 matches. Muktijoddha faces a tough test on Wednesday as they lock horns with Abahani.
Sheikh Jamal piled up pressure from the very beginning and took the lead in the 8th minute when defender Md Sujan headed a Femi Orunimmi corner from the right hand flag.
In the 43rd minute of the first half Cameroonian forward Emmanuel Ayuk doubled the margin. Fed with a chipped pass of compatriot Sergio Chico Ayuk blasted a volley in the roof of the net from the six yard box.
Ayuk scored his second in the 50th minute as he placed the ball past Chittagong Mohammedan goalie James Paul after Waly Faisal did the hardwork in the left flank and provided a cut back to Emily who passed the ball to Ayuk.
Emily scored the fourth in the 70th minute with a solo effort, dribbling past two defenders he beat onrushing James Paul with neat placing shot.
Chittagong Mohammedan skipper hit the sidepost with a powerful header in the 53rd minute.
Chittagong Mohammedan remained second from the bottom with 13 points from 18 matches.
