Dhaka, June 06: Farashganj SC confirmed three points in the Grameenphone Bangladesh League as they defeated Brothers Union 2-1 at the BSSM Mostafa Kamal Stadium on Monday.
This win helped the Old Dhaka outfit to reach the ninth position in the league table out of 12. Last two teams will be relegated from the professional league.
Sohel Rana and Juel scored for winning team in the 34th and 36th minute while Nigerian forward Kingsley Chigozie reduced the margin for the Gopibag outfit 57th minute of the match.
Both teams did 1-1 draw in the first leg match of the league.
After this triumph, Farashganj reached 9th place with 18 points while Brothers remained 5th place with 25 points.
In the other match of the day at the Cox’s Bazar Stadium, host Chittagong Mohammedan Sporting Club defeated Rahmatganj MFS 2-1.
Pushbon Mollah broke the deadlock for Rahmatganj in the 60th minute of the match. But a minute later Chittagong Mohammedan’s veteran striker Ariful Kabir Farad leveled the score. Liberian striker Jerry Odesco sealed the victory for Port City outfit.
After 19th round, Chittagong Mohammedan moved one step up from 11th to 10th position with 16 points while Rahmatganj kept 7th with 24 points.
