Dhaka, June 17: Brazilian playmaker Everton's double strikes helped Brothers Union to register a 2-1 victory over Rahmatganj MFS in the Grameenphone Bangladesh League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Friday.
Brothers also won over Rahmatganj 5-2 in the first phase of the league.
Everton Souza Santos put Brothers ahead in the 28th minute of the match by a solo effort. Taking control on a ball from midfield, the Brazilian playmaker dribbled past two defenders of rival and his angular shot beat the goalie Iran Sheikh without giving any chance to save. (1-0)
Ugandan striker brought Rahmatganj in the match in the 53rd minute by a penalty after he was fouled by Brothers defender Khan Md Tara. Idris converted the spot kick. (1-1)
Everton, the left footed magician, scored his second goal and confirmed the victory of Brothers in the 69th minute of the match. Dodging two defenders and on rushing goalkeeper Iran Sheik, the Brazilian made the ball home after getting a pass from his compatriot Danilo Vivaldo. (2-1)
The Gopibagh outfit have 29 points from 20 matches (two matches to play) while Rahmat remained 24 points from 21 matches.
