Dhaka, June 25: Nikola Ilievski, the newly appointed head coach of Bangladesh vowed to work hard to lift the standards of the national team.
The 56 year old Macedonian was officially introduced as the head coach of Bangladesh in a press briefing held at the BFF House on Saturday. Kazi Salahuddin, the president of the BFF officially introduced Ilievski as the new coach of the Bangladesh to the press.
Ilievski, the former national coach of the Macedonia national team was upbeat with the opportunity. “I am very happy to become the coach of Bangladesh, I believe in teamwork and firmly believe that I can take Bangladesh to a new height, I will work step by step” said the new coach.
Salahuddin welcomed the new coach. “I had a long conversation with the new coach and is very impressed with the depth of knowledge he possesses, I hope his presence will lift the players and the standards” hoped the BFF president.
Badal Roy, the chairman of the National Team Management Committee was also present on the occasion.
Ilievski’s first assignment will against Pakistan in the pre-World Cup qualifier scheduled to be played on June 29th and on July 3rd at Dhaka and Lahore respectively.
