Dhaka, July 2: Bangladesh skipper Biplob wiping out any thoughts of negative football vowed to play positive football against Pakistan in the 2nd leg of the pre-World cup qualifier at the Punjab Stadium at 9:30 pm (BST) on Sunday.
The Bangladesh skipper was confident about his teams chance in the pre-match press conference at the Pakistan Football Federation on Saturday. As Bangladesh was leading on 3-0 aggregate Biplob was grilled about the approach of Bangladesh in the crucial match for Pakistan.
However Biplob in his typical modest way said Bangladesh looks forward to win the match with a positive brand of football. “We are not thinking anything negative, all we know that we will be playing a positive brand of football focusing upon a win, Bangladesh will not adopt any negative approach” said the Bangladesh skipper.
Biplob however will face a tough time in the field as Pakistan skipper Jaffar Khan said his team will enjoy the home advantage. “In Dhaka we were not able to play our normal football due to the excessive rain and we also complained about it, but we are now playing in our own conditions and we look forward to win the match trying to overcome the first round deficit” said Jaffar.
The temperature is quite high as on Saturday the mercury reached 34 degree Celsius but it falls down in the night and the temperature is expected to be at 25 degree during the match.
Bangladesh team will hold their first training session at the venue at 8:30 pm (BST) today and the coach Nikola Ilievski will decide the eleven after the session.
Saeed Hasan Kanan, the team manager informed all the players are well and fit and has prevailed over the jet lag.
Team leader Fazlur Rahman Babul expressed satisfaction over the security arrangement saying a pilfer proof security system has surrounded the team everywhere it went.
Bangladesh have a good record on Pakistan soil after winning three out of five matches that they have played there since 1982. Bangladesh have even won their last two meetings on Pakistan soil in the SA Games and Asia Cup qualifiers.
