Dhaka, July 11: Dhaka Abahani almost ensured their semifinal slot of the Grameenphone Super Cup with a goalless draw at the Bangabandhu national Stadium on Monday.
Brothers Union finished their campaign with one point while Abahani still have to play Sheikh Jamal who thrashed Brothers union 6-1 earlier. If Sheikh Jamal defeat Abahani by six goals then Brothers will qualify for the last four. However a draw will see them through.
Abahani came close to a strike in the 24th minute but forward Rony failed to push the rebound that fell in his feet after Brothers custodian Roghu punched an Awudu Ibrahim long ranger.
Four minutes before the break Rony saw his fierce shot land from the middle of the box in the outside net.
Sobuj Das Roghu the Brothers custodian saved two close range effort of Uzzal and Awudu in the dying minutes.
