Bangladesh lose 4-0 at Beirut
Dhaka, July 23: Bangladesh conceded a 4-0 defeat against Lebanon in the World Cup qualifier at the Camille Chamoun Stadium on Saturday.
Bangladesh had the first attack in the very first minute with Monaem Kahn Raju picked up Jahid’s right flank cross but shot wide.
The next 15 minute the ball was in the midfield but Lebanon took the lead in the 16th minute through Ahmed Matouk Hasan. The midfielder beat goalie Mamun Khan from five meters with a powerful shot (1-0).
Mamun Khan saved two powerful shots of Akram Moghrabi and Zakaria Yahya in the 23rd and 24th with two timely dives. But three minutes later Matouk Hasan led a counter attack, dribbled past Waly Faisal and passed the ball to Mahmoud el Ali who just pushed the ball and make the score 2-0.
In the 44 minute Emily’s head off a Mamunul Islam free kick landed on the goal line but Bangladesh's appeal was turned down by the referee. Ali al Saadi made it 3-0 in 56th minute with a nice header off a free kick from the left flank.
Bangladesh was down 4-0 in the 65th minute when Tarik el Ali sealed the fate of the match. Bangladesh host the second leg at Dhaka on July 28th.
