GP Super Cup: High voltage 1st semifinal today
Dhaka, Agust 01: Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club will face Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Ltd in the first semifinal of the Grameenphone Super Cup at the Bangabandhu National Stadium at 3:30 pm on Tuesday.
BTV will transmit the match live. BFF has declared five tickets of the Argentina Nigeria match for the raffle draw on the tickets alongwith the refrigerator and the five mobile phones provided by Walton.
Sheikh Jamal who have six national team members in their first eleven is the favourite on the paper but Mohammedan who are the defending champions will not be an easy nut to crack.
Sheikh Jamal will relay on their Cameroonian trio of Yoko Samnick, Emmaneul Ayuk and Stefan Loga Bouga and Nigerian winger Femi Orunimi. National skipper Shujon, Waly Faisal, Nasir and Mamunul Islam are also there to carry the flag.
Mohammedan on the other hand have Nigerian Sunday Chizoba and Towhid in the frontline. Towhid’s good form earned him a call in the national camp but he missed his debut to sickness. Experienced name Hasan al Mamun, Rwandan midfielder Amani will carry the hope of the traditional black and white outfit.
Packeer Ali, the Sheikh Jamal coach was upbeat with his team. “We are the Bangladesh League champions and we are really focused to win the Super Cup, the players are ready to excel and they were playing in the national fold, we will take the field to win” said the Sri Lankan.
Shafikul Islam Manik, the Mohammedan coach also targeted a victory. “Sheikh Jamal is the stronger team of the two but in the field there is nothing except the performance, Mohammedan have the ability to turn the things to their way and we will try our best to win the semifinal to reach the final” said Manik.
