Mukti-Abahani second semifinal on Wednesday
Dhaka Aug 02: Dhaka Abahani Limited will take on Muktijoddha Sangsad KC in the second semifinal of the Grameenphone Super Cup at the Bangabandhu National Stadium at 3:30pm on Wednesday.
BTV will transmit the match live. BFF has declared five tickets of the Argentina Nigeria match for the raffle draw on the tickets along with the refrigerator and the five mobile phones provided by Walton.
The sky-blue outfit became runners-up in the last Super Cup held in 2009 while the All Red Muktijodha finished runners-up in the Bangladesh League.
Abahani manager Satyajit Das Rupu hinted that first choice goalkeeper Zia could miss the match. Siraji and Ujjol suffering from fever but could be fit before the match. But he is confident to reach the final.
“It’s a very important match for us. We started the season with federation cup triumph, after that we had a bad time in the league. Now all we want is to win the match and play the final. Our main problem is in scoring, we will score tomorrow and win the match.” said Rupu.
On the other hand, Muktijoddha coach Zakaria Babu is very optimistic about playing in the final though he did not forget to respect the opponent.
“Abahani are a good team, they have experienced players. We will try to beat them and win the match by playing good. Our target is to play in final and I hope we will do that.” said Zakaria Babu in the pre-match press conference at the BFF house on Tuesday.
