BD lose to Pak 2-0
Dhaka, August 8: Pakistan beat Bangladesh 2-0 in the first semifinal of the SAFF U-16 Championship to reach the final at Dasrath Stadium, Kathmandu on Monday.
The match was heading towards the draw but Mansoor Khan broke the deadlock in the 89th minute hitting the back of the net from 20 yard with a brilliant flick. Four minutes were added as the stoppage time and Sher Ali doubled the tally in 90+1 with his brilliant footwork inside the Bangladesh D-box.
Bangladesh was fortunate in the 65th minute as Mansoor Khan’s free kick rebounded off the crosspiece.
Bangladesh midfielder Kowser beat off side trap in the 70th minute and found himself in one vs one situation with Pakistan goalie Usman Khan, but Kowser was little late to reach to the ball and Khan clears the ball.
The pitch was completely soggy due to overnight rain.
Bangladesh will play the 3rd place decider against the losing semifinalist of Nepal and India on Wednesday.
