Women’s Football League From Wednesday
Dhaka, Sept 26: The Walton Women’s Football League, will kick-off with the match of Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club and Dipali Jubo Sangha at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Wednesday.
Eight teams split into two groups are participating in the 17 day meet.. Every team will get Tk. 20,000 as appearance money. The champions will be awarded Tk. 50,000 while the runners-up will get Tk. 30,000Tk. Highest scorer will get a DVD player. These were disclosed by Chairman of Women Football Wing Sirajul Islam Bachchu at a press briefing at BFF House on Monday.
Women Football Wing Deputy Chairman Mahfuza Akhter Kiron said, “We want to move our women football ahead. They have improved a lot after starting. Now we are no 111 in world football ranking. It’s a good progress” said Kiron .
Iqbal bin Anwar, the Deputy Director (PR & Media) of RB Group said, “We were with the Women football from the beginning. We hope that we will continue in the future, so that our women team will bring honour for our country. We are giving 4 lacs and 50 thousand Tk as cash and also giving others our products (total 6 lacs). ”
The grouping_ Group A: Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Ltd., Wari Club, Arambagh Krira Sangha, Dipali Jubo Sangha.
Goup B: Mohammedan SC, Brothers Union, Dhaka Wonderers Club, Farashganj SC.
