Oct 13: Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club locks horn with Dhaka
Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited in the final of the Walton Women’s Football
League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium at 3:30 pm on Friday.
Mohammedan
coach Poniruzzaman Ponir is confident that his team will do well in the final,
“We did not play too many matches as you see we played only two matches till
date, But we will do better in the final.” said coach in press briefing at BFF
on Thursday.
“You know
we had a very short time for preparation due to many causes, but we will
not give them any space without fight. We will fight with whatever we have”
continued Ponir.
Ponir however showered respect to his
opponents. “Sheikh Jamal is a strong team, with many
national players they are a tough opponent” said Ponir.
Mohammedan
captain Dalia Akter was also hopeful for a winning finish. “We are
ready to give to give our best. However we lack match practice as we played only
two matches before the final whereas Jamal played four matches.
So, we did not have chance to gradually improve.
Sheikh
Jamal manager Farida Parvin said her team is ready to grab the title and the
team is ready to take the silverware home with good
performance.
Iqbal
Bin Anwar, Deputy Director of Media & PR of Walton said, Walton will come
with big budget in the near future to promote Bangladesh football if we match
the time with BFF. We will continue our support in the future.
MSC came
in the final through beating Farashganj in the group match 13-0 and Dipali Jubo
in semi final 3-0 while Jamal cam through final beating Dipali 4-0, Arambagh
26-0 and Wari 13-0 in the group match. They also beat Farashganj 16-0 in the
semi final.
BFF Women
wing chairman Sirajul Islam Bachchu was also present on the occasion.
