Bangladesh League now Bangladesh Premier League
Dhaka, October 23: Bangladesh Football Federation in a meeting took a number of important decisions at the BFF House on Sunday.
The decisions are as follows-
From now on the Bangladesh League would be called Bangladesh Premier League and the second tier of the Professional League will be called as the Bangladesh Championship League.
The Executive Committee decided to increase the number of the overseas players to seven meaning each team will be eligible to register seven players but only four players will be allowed in the players list. This rule will be implemented for the next season also.
Two teams of Bangladesh Premier League will be relegated while the champions of the second tier will be promoted.
The Executive Committee amending the by-laws of the professional league decided to postpone the match if its proved to be a fixed one and also declared deduction of six points from each alleged teams total in case of a fixed match.
From now on no electronic communication gadgets will be allowed inside the playing field and the officials will be punished for the breach of rule.
The championship and the relegation of the Bangladesh Premier League will be decided in a home and away match in case of the same points earned, goal averages will not be counted in deciding the championship and the relegation.
A high powered committee will be monitoring the allegation of the fixed matches.
Uttar Baridhara club has expressed their aspirations of playing in the Bangladesh Champions League and it will be decided in the next meeting of the professional league.
BFF will be signing the deal to take over the Sylhet BKSP within this month.
