AFC U-19 Group A qualifiers kicks off Tuesday
Dhaka, October 24: Bangladesh will be looking forward for a winning start in the AFC U-19 Group A qualifiers against Maldives at the Bangabandhu National Stadium at 7:00 pm on Tuesday.
In the first match of the opening day Saudi Arabia will lock horns with Oman at 4:00 pm.
In the official press briefing of the meet at the BFF House on Monday Monjur Hossain Malu, the chairman of the local organizing committee revealed RB Group, the manufacturer of the Walton products as the official partners.
Bangladesh coach Nikola Ilievski is very oftimistic, "As you know, we got 14 practice sessions and played 12 practice matches. So, our preparation is very good. I am happy that we have no injury players. Our team has good quality and scorer. But every match will be taugh. All countries have 50/50 chance. No match is easy. I hope, boys will do good score."
Syed Golam Zilani, the coach of Bangladesh was eager for a winning start. “The boys are confident to put a good show in their own yard, they are focused upon their job, we want to go match by match” said Zilani.
Abdul Malek, the Bangladesh skipper echoed the same tune. “We are playing at our home, the preparations are quite satisfactory and the boys will be taking the field to play for the country, we are ready for the challenges” said Malek.
Maldives coach Ibrahim Halim however was not ready to fight. “I am focused upon the perfect teamwork in facing the challenges, we are not bothered by the conditions and the hosts” said the Maldives coach.
Abdullah Fayz, the Maldives skipper wanted to go slow and steady. “We have set our target on a match by match basis, we want to start with a win” said Fayz.
Khaled al Garni, the Saudi coach was full of confidence ahead of the crucial match. “We arrived early to get adapted with the conditions and we have made it, we have played practice matches in Dubai, Riyadh and Taif, the preparation is quite good and we here to qualify for the final round,” said Garni.
Abdel Aziz, the Oman coach was ready to fight. “We have been practicing hard for the last three months and the boys are ready to prove their mettle, in our build up we have played against Kuwait, UAE, Jordan and Lebanon, we are determined to qualify for the final round” said Aziz.
