Preview: Oman ready to face Iraq
Dhaka, October 30: Oman in their battle of existence vowed to fight with fire against iraq in the crucial tie of the AFC U-19 group A qualifiers at the Bangabandhu National Stadium at 7:00 pm on Monday.
The flamboyant Irqai’s who beat Bangladesh 6-0 and mauled Maldives 9-0 in their two matches look to be the favourtite but Oman is not ready to spare any inch of the field without challenge. “The Iraqi’s are more experienced and that’s the only difference but we will fight with out hearts out at believe we can win the match” said Oman coach Abdel Azim.
“We have played two matches and won one and lost one so the players have gone through the ups and downs, now the time has arrived to show their character and I hope they will do it” hoped Abdel Azim.
However he admitted that the suspension of the two players will hamper his plans but he accepted the reality and was ready to fight with the available resources.
Iraq coach Hakeem Shakir however was least worried with his teams upcoming challenges. “we are focused to win the group and Oman is our next target, the way the boys have been playing I am confident to win tomorrows match” said Shakir.
We will confirm our qualification with the win and its very important for us, the team is free from injuries and Oman may post a tough challenge, we are ready for it” added Shakir.
In the other match of the day Maldives who has conceded 15 goals in three loses against Bangladesh (3), Oman(3) and Iraq(9) face another tough challenge against Saudi Arabia who has registered victories against Oman and Bangladesh identical 4-0 margins.
