BFF signs deal with Transcom Foods
Dhaka. November 16: Bangladesh Football Federation and Transcom Foods Ltd signed a Memorandum of Understanding over organizing the KFC Women’s Super League from November 25 at the Kamalapur stadium at the BFF House on Wednesday.
As per the deal Transcom Foods will provide a purse of US Dollars 15000 equivalent to around BDT 12 lakhs to BFF for hosting the eight team competition.
The eight teams of the meet are Bangladesh Ansar, Naryanganj, Khulna, Jessore, Satkhira, Gaibandha, Thakurgaon and Kishoreganj, These teams are the top eight finishers in the last edition of the National Women’s Championship.
Sirajul Islam Bachchu, the chairman of the BFF’s Woman Wing was hopeful of developing the women’s football standard with the endeavour. “We look forward to host this competition in a round robin league basis to provide the maximum exposure to the female players” said Bachchu.
Akku Chowdhury, the Executive Director of Transcom Foods committed to be involved with the development process of women’s football in the country. “Sports for women is a very important issue and we have responded to the call of BFF and also FIFA to assist the women’s game in the country, we commit that it will be a lasting process” said Akku.
BFF woman’s wing deputy chairman Maahfuza Akther Kiron, acting general secretary Abu Naeem Shohag, KFC assistant manager Mathelda Rini and assistant manager communications Ashikur Rahman were also present on the occasion.
