National team beats All African Select XI
Dhaka, November 19: Bangladesh national team defeated the All African Select XI by 2-0 goals in the third practice match of between the two teams at the Bangabandu National Stadium on Saturday.
Winger Shakil put his team ahead in the very 3rd minute of the match heading home a nice cross curved by Nasir from the right flank.
One minute away from the first half whistle midfielder Shahedul Alam doubled the lead after African XI goalie Saidul failed to take control of an Alamgir Kabir Rana low cross and Shahed send the ball into the open net.
The African team played the last five minutes ten men due to the sent off of midfielder Mario.
The All African Select XI won the first match 3-2 while the second was drawn 1-1.
Coach Nikola Ilievski was happy to see his team’s improvement. “The boy’s played well today and now I think the team has reached the normal stage, I will now focus upon the formations in the next ten days before the final challenges start” said the Macedonian.
Skipper Shujon also thought the team is shaping up. “Today the passes and the distribution were good, I think our hard work is taking a shape, we were determined to win and we did it” said Shujon.
Bangladesh team leaves for Malaysia on Saturday night to play a practice match against Negeri Sembilan.
