Ilievski terms Nepal match as a "Do or Die"
Dhaka, December 3: Bangladesh coach Nikola Ilievski urged his boys to concentrate hard and dedicate all the skills in the “Do or Die” match against Nepal in the group B match of the SAFF Championship at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi on Sunday.
The match will kick off at 3:30 BST and Ten Action+ will transmit the match live.
Ilievski disappointed with the 0-0 draw against Pakistan on Friday is likely to bring a number of changes in his playing eleven and will try to solve the problem of finishing.
“It’s a do or die situation, the boys would have to play their best with more concentration, dedication and also have to increase the level of seriousness, I still thinking about inserting the right combinations ” said the Macedonian.
He termed Nepal as a fast outfit and a good one also. “Nepal is quick with the ball and has good combination, we have to work hard and keep the possession” said Ilievski.
Skipper Shujon thought offence is the best defence. “We have to play pressing football against the Nepalese, they are quick with counter attacks so we will be aware of it” said Shujon.
Meanwhile Graham Roberts, the English coach of Nepal was high in confidence after his side came back to salvage a 1-1 draw against Maldives on Friday.
“Our attitude was fantastic. We dominated the proceedings for almost 85% of the match. Our fitness was top notch and you call that an ‘English style fitness.’ We will only get better from here,” he said.
