Ansar lift KFC Women Super League Title
Dhaka, December 7: Bangladesh Ansar clinched the title of KFC Women’s Super League 2011 beating Satkhira 2-0 at the BSSM Mostafa Kamal Stadium on Wednesday.
Ansar took the lead in the 8th minute of the match when midfielder Tithi Rani Sarker headed home a neat cross of Farhana Akhter.
Sui Nu Pro Marma doubled the lead in the 31st minute. A square pass of Rowhsan Ara Bulu from the right flank found Sui Nu Pro just outside the box and the forward blasted a shot from 20 yards into the near post.
Mirona of Satkhira was awarded Player of the Tournament and Sabina Akhter (19 goals) was Highest Scorer of the Tournament.
Champion Ansar got a purse of TK 50,000 as prize money and runner-up Satkhira received a purse of Tk 30,000. Thakurgaon recieved Fair Play tropy.
Minister for Primary and Mass Education Dr. Afsarul Ameen distributed the prizes as the chief guest. BTV Director General Abu Jafar Siddiki, Deputy Director and PRO of RB Group Iqbal bin Anwar, Transcom Foods Managing Director Akku Chowdhury and Sirjaul Islam Bachcu, the Chairman of BFF women’s wing were also present.
