Wari beats Beanibazar
Dhaka, December 23: Wari Club defeated former Bangladesh League outfit Beanibazar Sporting Club by 3-0 goals in the second match of the Grameenphone Federation Cup knock out phase at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Friday.
Beanibazar was reduced to ten men in the 28th minute as midfielder Zakir Hossain was sent off for a vicious foul. Wari forward Shahinur Islam Shahin scored a brace for the winners.
Wari took the lead in the 5th minute after Shafiqul Islam was fouled by Beanai Bazar defender Mohiuddin inside the box and Shahin converted the penalty (1-0).
Zakir Hossain, the Wari midfielder doubled the lead in the 26th minute beating Beanibazar goalie Sayeed Hasan with beautiful chip from the top of the box (2-0).
Zakir saw the red card in the 28th minute for a dangerous foul on Wari midfielder Raju.
Shahin scored the third in the 86th minute tapping home a nice square pass from Zakir.
However the win did not ensure a final round berth for Wari as they have to play a play-off match against the winner of BKSP-Bangladesh Army match.
