BKSP sets Wari Date
Dhaka, December 24: BKSP beat Bangladesh Army by 4-2 goals in the penalty shootout of the second match of the knockout phase of the Grameenphone Federation Cup football at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Saturday.
The stipulated time of the match was locked 1-1 and the fate was decided in the shootout.
Ratul Islam gave BKSP the lead in the 15th minute after Sajib sneaked in a nice through pass and Ratul beat Army goalie Jafar Sarder from a close range.
Army piled up considerable pressure but had to wait till 78th minute as BKSP conceded a penalty and also their central defender Ridwan bin Rahman sent off. Ridwan handled the ball in front of the goalpost and referee flashed the red card. Substitute midfielder Didarul Haque converted the penalty equalizing the scoreline.
In the penalty shootout Hadisur Rahman, Usha Ching Marma, Rasel Islam and Aminur Rahman Sojib scored for BKSP while Kabirul Islam failed. For Army Apurba Kumar Das and Shawkat Ali converted but Uzzal Richil and Didarul Haque missed.
BKSP will face Wari in the play-off on 27th December.
