National school football starts Thursday
Dhaka, December 28: The National School Football sponsored by Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd starts at the Bangabandhu National Stadium with the match of the Govt. Laboratory School vs. Kakoli High School at 4:00 pm on Thursday.
The champions of the tournament will receive a purse of Tk. 10 lakhs while the runner-up will get a purse of Tk. 5 lakhs.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid will be inaugurating the tourney that comprises 5000 schools and one lakh footballers across the country.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Ahad Ali Sarker, BFF President Kazi Salahuddin, Swadhin Bangla Football team manager Tanvir Mazhar Islam Tanna, Chairman of Bangladesh Football Federation’s School Committee Dr. Mahfuzur Rahman and Prof. Abu Nasser Muhammad Abduz Zaher, Chairman, Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited will also be present on the occasion.
Meanwhile the draw of 70 schools of the zone of Dhaka Metropolis was held at the BFF House on Wednesday.
Sheikh Md. Aslam, the co-chairman of the school football committee, BFF ex-co- members Khurshid Babul, Fazlur Rahman Babul, Hasanuzzman Khan Bablu, SVP PR of Islami Bank Ataur Rahman and N.I. Maksud, the general manager of Asihyan City were present on the occasion.
The group A will kick off on 30th December at the East End Club Ground. The Group A the matches are Shahid Nabi vs. Dhaka Cotton Mills.

Narinda Govt. High School vs Mannan High School
Nababpur High School vs JB Memorial Acdemy
The matches will be played in knock out basis and the group champions will move to the second round.
