Abahani-Jamal high voltage QF Tuesday
Dhaka January 16: Defending champions Dhaka Abahani faces title contenders Sheikh Jamal in the third quarterfinal of the Grameenphone Federation Cup at 5:30 pm at the Bangabanhu National Stadium on Tuesday.
Both the team expressed confidence about winning the match promising a highly competitive fixture.
Satayjit Das Rupu, the manager of Dhaka Abahani was expecting a strong challenge. “Every team presents more than 100 per cent while playing against Abahani, definitely Sheikh Jamal will be not an exception, they are a strong unit and will put a stern challenge, however we are ready for it and the team is eager to show their worth” said Rupu.
“The defeat in the last match will act as a tonic and the players has learnt their lessons, it’s a knock out match and the players will be cautious not to make many mistakes, Waly Faisal has recovered from his shoulder ache and Lucky Paul will be returning and the other boosting for the team is Jahid Hossain will be returning to the action completing his three match ban” added Rupu.
Sheikh Jamal coach Saiful Bari Titu also was brimming with confidence. “Overall in the three group matches the team performed well in all sections apart from the finishing, my team have to improve in this particular section against Abahani, they are a formidable team and their advantage is they have a group of foreign players who have playing together for a long time, the coach is also in job last year, so they have got some advantages, we have to be in our best to beat Abahani and we believe we can do it” said Titu
