Jamal storm into the final
Dhaka, January 21: Sheikh Jamal stormed into the final of the Grameenphone Federation Cup with a 2-0 victory over Sheikh Russell in the second semifinal at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Saturday.
Nigerian forwards Kester and Assogba Allen scored the goals for the winners.
Sheikh Jamal was the dominant side and they wasted a couple of chances in the first half. Sheikh Russell suffered a blow when their Nigerian attacker Alamu Bukola Olalekan left the field with a head injury in the 40th minute.
When the match was heading to the extra time Sheikh Jamal took the lead off a penalty. Russell defender Prodip Barua stopped a Kester placing over the goalline and was shown a direct red card Kester scored from the penalty in the 87th minute(1-0)
Two minutes later Assogba Allen dribbled past his marker with a Kester cut back and placed the ball past Biplob (2-0).
Sheikh Jamal will meet Team BJMC in the final on Tuesday.
