PWD pound Little Friends
Dhaka, Jan 22: PWD SC made a winning start in the Destiny second division football league defeating Little Friends 2-1 in the inaugural match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Sunday.
Litttle Friends Club took the lead in the 68th minute when PWD defender Amir Faisal handled a ball in the box and referee whistled for penalty. Mostafizur Rahman converted the spot kick. (1-0).
Chanchal Kumar Das of PWD leveled the score in the 76th minute by a header on a Krishna Barman’s shot that was punched by Little Friends goalie Moniruzzaman. (1-1).
Alam Nabi scored the winning goal for PWD by a long range shot from the left in the 85th minute. (2-1)
Earlier, Destiny 2000 Ltd Chairman Mohammad Hossain inaugurated the meet as chief guest. BFF President Kazi Salahuddin and officials of BFF and Destiny were present on the occasion.
