BFF refuses new foreign registration
Dhaka, January 22: The professional league committee of BFF refused to accept "Registration (ITC Request) of Foreign Players outside Registration Window". The window has been closed about a month ago.
The FIFA players registration statute clause no 6.1 says that a player may be registered if they are not registered to any other club prior to the last date of registration but the sporting integrity should be considered. The committee emphasized upon the term and thought it would be unfair to all the clubs. So the committee unanimously decided not to allow any new registration of foreign players. The committee also thought it would be misused.
The Disciplinary Committee decided that Team BJMC manager Arif Khan Joy will be suspended for one match in the Federation Cup and to serve a show cause notice why Team BJMC will not be served with financial penalty for the delayed arrival in the field at the start of the first half and why their womens team entered the field to congratulate the males team after the victory in the semifinal.
BFF senior vice president Abdus Salam Murshedy presided over the meeting.
