Dhaka, July 27: The ‘Walton 1st Dhaka Mahanagari Football League’ has been kicked off at Bir Sherestha Shaheed Shipahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Dhaka.
FM Iqbal bin Anwar Don, operative director, head of sports and welfare, Walton inaugurated the tournament as the chief guest on Thursday.
Tangail Football Academy beat Asaduzzaman Football Academy by 2-1 in the inaugural match. Dalim Barman (29’) and Swapan Mia (75’) scored one goal each for the winning team while a late strike by Rintu in the 82nd minute only reduced the margin of defeat for Asaduzzaman.ÂÂ
Monsur Sporting Club will face Araf Sporting Club at 3pm tomorrow at the same venue.
