Dhaka, July 7: A finalised squad of 30 U16 boys is set to begin their residency at Bangladesh’s premier sports academy, the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Pratishthan (BKSP).

The 30 boys will be invited to the camp as soon as the logistics are in place, said BFF technical director Paul Smalley.

The U16 boys team will have to get going quite soon with two major international events coming up.

Paul Smalley said there will be a squad for the SAFF competition, which is the South Asian championship and possibly another for the AFC Championship.

He said the boys would have to know that they are on the team as long as they perform well.

This U16 squad might also include some of the boys from the U14 boys who played in the Super Mokh Cup in Malaysia earlier this year.

Compared to the U16 girls team, set to leave for Korea on July 9th, where they are scheduled to play four matches including one against the Korean U16 team, the U16 boys have a long way to go to emerge as a well-knit playing unit.
