Bangladeshi youths spending busy time in US

Apr 19, 2010: The Bangladesh youth football delegation touring the US, featuring six boys and as many girls (under-16) on a citizen exchange programme, has been spending busy time in Washington DC.

The Bangladesh contingent left Dhaka on April 12 for the programme under the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the US Department of State and have already participated in football and other sport activities, informed Satyajit Das Rupu and Mahfuza Akhter Kiron – the two tour leaders – on Monday.

The young footballers have been going through a very busy schedule, from 7.30am to 10pm, in the US capital where they have attended training sessions with local coaches, soccer clinics and met top footballers of the country apart from watching matches, playing futsal games and visiting sports facilities.

The team also have been participating in community activities and enjoying other sports popular in USA.

The 14-member team will fly back on April 23.
