Dhaka, May 16: Abahani Limited is eliminated from the AFC President Cup as they played a goalless draw against Dordoi Bishkek at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Sunday. They had to win the match to promote themselves to the final round of the tournament but the sky blue’s failed to make any difference in the field.

The hosts played very well on the pitch and made some very good attacks but could not capitalize any of them. In the 42nd minute Meshu shot home a Motiur Munna pass but referee whistled just before the kick as the ball touched Meshu’s hand.

Most of the time the ball was in the midfield and the Kyrgiz side could not make any remarkable attack. Bangladeshi outfits Ghanaian striker Awudu Ibrahim entered in the opposition’s penalty area two minutes before the final whistle but his shot was saved by the acrobatic rival goalie Volkov.

Abahani has no chance to qualify for the next round as the best runner up also, because Turkmenistan’s club Ittu who fought in the group C has secured their position with same number of points as the Dhaka giants but they scored more goals.
